Here’s how to reduce or stop spam text messages on an Android device.
You can reduce them by blocking numbers and using your phone’s built-in protection.
Follow the steps in order.
- Open your Messages app.
- Tap the spam message.
- Tap the menu (three dots).
- Tap Block or Block number.
- Confirm if asked.
Blocked numbers will no longer be able to send you messages.
Do not reply to spam messages, even to say “STOP”.
If you are unsure, it is safer to ignore and delete the message.
If something does not look right, it is always safer not to click or respond.
